John W. Morrow was born and raised in Yorktown, Indiana; Yorktown High School Class of 1975. Go Tigers!!! I earned my BS from the University of Southern Indiana in 1988 and my MS from USI in 1998. I have spent my entire 33 year teaching career at Castle High School. I am licensed to teach Sociology, United States History and World History/Civilizations; and am licensed under Highly Qualified Status.
My wife of 38 years, Ann {Sakel} (CHS ’75) is an Interim Administrator with B. E. Smith Company. I have 2 children; my daughter Paige (CHS ’02) is a Purdue University Nursing School graduate, and she and her husband Joshua, a lawyer with Barnes and Thornburg in Indianapolis, have a 11 year old daughter, Hannah, a 8 year old son, Jude, and a 4 year old son, Gabriel. My son Leland (CHS ’05) is a graduate of the American Musical and Dramatic Academy in New York City and is employed by Garmong Construction . Leland and his wife Kat, a Manager at Christopher and Banks, have a 7 year old son, Lyric and a 3 year old son, Liam.
I am a 1977 alum of the Madison Scouts Drum & Bugle Corps of which I marched in the Rifle Line in Winter Guard and Field Show. I retired from IHSAA Football Officiating after 24 years and 3 State Championship games (‘94, ‘99, and ‘04).
